Challenge
The challenge
A landmark, handled with restraint
Some food brands are businesses; Fairmount Bagel is a landmark. People inherit it, recommend it, photograph it and bring visitors there. A brand like that already means something before any agency touches it, and the risk sits on both sides. Too much polish detaches it from its own history. Too little structure leaves tourists and new customers unable to find basic information online.
The digital presence had to help people discover, understand and share the institution while every design choice respected what loyal customers already felt the brand to be.

Insight
The strategic insight
The character was already there
Fairmount Bagel had no need to borrow personality from a rebrand. Its value lives in repetition: the bagels, the wood-fired oven, the location, the hours, the smell, decades of customer memories. The work was to organize the digital and communication layer around that existing equity, deciding carefully what should change and what should stay untouched.
For a heritage brand, that discipline is the brief. Its history, rituals and local meaning already define most of it. The designer's job is clarity without flattening memory, which takes less ego and more respect for the place.
Deliverables
What we created

Website
A clearer digital home connecting the online experience to the real place: essential information first, the story carried through photography and structure rather than reinvention.

Rebranding support
Clarification of the brand's visual communication while protecting the recognizable marks of its place in Montreal food culture.

Social media
A communication layer that carries memory as much as marketing: product moments, local pride, tourist recognition and everyday appetite, with the institution's own voice in charge.
Impact
Impact
Fairmount Bagel's heritage now reads clearly online. The brand is easier to find, its story easier to share, and the digital layer feels like an extension of the shop on Fairmount Avenue rather than a replacement for it.
For CC&Co, the project shows a specific capability: working with brands that already belong to culture. Sometimes the job is protection and clarification, making the next touchpoint easier for people who already care, and knowing exactly where to stop.
